Dragon Age Orgasms
I purchased Dragon Age Origins on Friday I'm already over 10 hours into it and I'm loving every minute of it. I'm playing it on 360 and it's working fairly well so far. I chose to be a Dwarf duster and of course made him look just like me, if my legs were shaved off at the knees of course. When I first started out I thought the graphics were sub par and had some clipping issues as well. The more I played I realized the depth and choice that this world allowed were usually reserved for mmorpgs, not single player games. Early stages are lack luster but once your in further the graphics and art style improve tenfold. Once I was immersed in this world and realized that every NPC conversation had real world consequences. Once I got into the combat in later events I had flashbacks of WOW raids with other players, once I realized I could play with every character in my party as I saw fit, the strategist in me took over. Going into advanced tactics and playing with my parties AI, taking my archers and putting them on high ground, spacing my mages right behind me to back me up with DPS and healing, having my war hound fuck the shit out of the first person that attacks and tear their goddamn throat out, stun them so I can come in with a dual wield flurry and finish them. If you are like me and love the way WOW is set up, but don't have the time, money or companions to play WOW with, I whole hardheartedly suggest picking up Dragon Age which in Canada saw a 15 dollar mark down at EB for the next week. These are my first impressions so far, and suggest that you at least give it a try.

Is Sony full of Baloney ?
I was watching the Ultimate Fighter with my fiance the other day and was enjoying the wonderful TV ads for Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 2 and Borderlands. I was thinking, "Wow, game marketing and advertising sure has come a long way. It's great that they show all in game footage and just let gamers see exactly what the game is." I remember back in the day when all they used to show was the CGI pre rendered cinematics.
Then in the next commercial break we were assaulted with numerous terrible Sony 1st party ads. Grand Turismo PSP has one of the worst ads ever. It shows no in game footage and just shows two assholes driving around a race track. Not compelling. Then it was a stupid ad with the price drop where Sony does it's best to offend it's consumers by portraying someone interested in a price drop rumor as a fat, ugly and stupid middle aged man sitting alone in his house. Then comes the Uncharted 2 ad, with the boyfriend telling the Sony rep that he's worried because his girlfriend thinks uncharted is a movie.... ho hum. I like ads that show what the game is about, show off gameplay footage and don't try to be funny. If your game is good, your graphics and gameplay should speak for itself, you shouldn't have to try to push humor or stupid pop culture references.
Even though Sony's got some great games, I feel that their marketing is way behind the curve.

Thunder down under.
I've heard that L4D 2 has been "censored" if you will in Australia. From other podcasts I've heard that many games are actually banned and many are censored. Finding this intriguing I did a little more research into this topic and found that Australia actually has a branch of government that is actually in charge of censorship! Does this seem archaic to anyone else? As someone who is born and raised in Canada where nothing is censored and you can do and say pretty much you want as long as it's not hurting anyone, I find that government having control over the media that you can consume kind of scary. While digging a little deeper, it seems that Australia doesn't have a game rating system for anything over 15+. It seems that Australia doesn't seem to recognize that more the kids actually play games. Seems very odd since the majority of gamers are between 20 and 30 years of age. Also Australians pay extreme prices for games, most games there (the ones that aren't banned)are around 100 bucks American. I can't imagine what the cost of the PS3 was at launch... So the next time your complaining about a game being delayed or that DLC should be free, give a thought to other countries who have it way worse that we do in North America.

Modern Warfare 2
Is it just me or am I already getting over-saturated with MW2 bullshit already....? First is the PC losing dedicated servers, then it's the stupid 3rd person mode non-travesery, now it's leaked footage of the intro airport scene. I won't go into details now just in case people are trying to stay spoiler free, but I feel like so much of this is really, REALLY stupid shit that people are getting up in arms about... I find it so annoying that the Internets voice seems like it's coming from a 12 year old spoiled girl who's experiencing her menstrual cycle for the first time.... Anyone else tired of hearing all this shit and just want to play the game?
