Thunder down under.

I've heard that L4D 2 has been "censored" if you will in Australia. From other podcasts I've heard that many games are actually banned and many are censored. Finding this intriguing I did a little more research into this topic and found that Australia actually has a branch of government that is actually in charge of censorship! Does this seem archaic to anyone else? As someone who is born and raised in Canada where nothing is censored and you can do and say pretty much you want as long as it's not hurting anyone, I find that government having control over the media that you can consume kind of scary. While digging a little deeper, it seems that Australia doesn't have a game rating system for anything over 15+. It seems that Australia doesn't seem to recognize that more the kids actually play games. Seems very odd since the majority of gamers are between 20 and 30 years of age. Also Australians pay extreme prices for games, most games there (the ones that aren't banned)are around 100 bucks American. I can't imagine what the cost of the PS3 was at launch... So the next time your complaining about a game being delayed or that DLC should be free, give a thought to other countries who have it way worse that we do in North America.

  1. hey rabs, shox here. although i don't have a 360, i've been trying to convince a good friend to get left4dead so i can play it and the fact that there's no R rating over here kinda sucks. the shit thing is that the guy who's blocking the R classification from coming is in a different state from me. I can't actually vote against the guy :(
